Lindsey and Lucas knew from the beginning that they wanted their wedding to feel like an adventure—something meaningful, intimate, and a little magical. So when the idea of getting married in Scotland came up early in their relationship, it just felt right. Fast forward to this spring, and they were surrounded by their favourite people, celebrating their love in the timeless beauty of Killochan Castle.
As a Scotland wedding photographer, I can honestly say this wedding was something special—equal parts emotional, joyful, and effortlessly elegant.

The Magic of Killochan Castle
Tucked away in the heart of Ayrshire, Killochan Castle is the kind of place that instantly transports you. With its historic charm, warm stone walls, and sweeping countryside views, it was the perfect setting for Lindsey and Lucas’ relaxed weekend wedding.
The castle is truly something else—elegant yet cozy. Each room is full of personality, with antique furniture, rich textures, and that unmistakable Scottish grandeur. Throughout the weekend, guests explored the halls and gardens, and felt at home in a space that holds so much character.
And outside? A surprise that made everyone smile—peacocks strutting across the grounds like they owned the place, adding a playful, almost storybook vibe to the celebration.

A True Scottish Experience
Scotland in March gave us the full experience—a little rain, some crisp air, and bursts of golden sunlight that lit up the castle and surrounding hills. It was everything you’d hope for from a Scottish spring: dramatic skies, gentle mist, and moments where the sun cut through just enough to take some backlit pictures.
The weather set the perfect atmosphere, with the kind of natural light that brings a cinematic softness to every photo. Add to that the sweeping landscape and the charm of castle life!

A Weekend to Remember
Rather than a single day, Lindsey and Lucas created a weekend filled with meaningful, memorable experiences. On the morning of the wedding, guests were invited to take part in clay pigeon shooting on the castle grounds—a fun, energetic way to kick off the day and take in the Scottish countryside.
Later, under the stone archways of the castle and with a bagpiper playing them in, the ceremony began—heartfelt, personal, and full of emotion. Lucas’ best friend served as the celebrant, making the whole moment feel deeply intimate and grounded in their story.
From the teary vows to the uncontrollable laughter, it was the kind of ceremony that stays with you.
⸻
The celebration
After the ceremony, guests gathered for a candlelit dinner—an intimate setting that felt both grand and personal, with soft lighting, heartfelt toasts, and three delicious courses shared around long tables.
When dinner came to a close, everyone made their way to the Great Hall, where Lindsey and Lucas shared their first dance—a tender moment that set the tone for the night.
It was the perfect blend of elegance and ease. No rush, no pressure—just presence, connection, and a deep sense of joy that lingered well into the night.
⸻
The Heart Behind the Scenes
A huge part of what made the weekend feel so seamless was the incredible team at Killochan Castle. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail created a peaceful, stress-free atmosphere that allowed everyone to simply enjoy the magic.
The staff truly went above and beyond—and their care was felt in every corner of the experience.

Lindsey & Lucas, Thank You
To Lindsey and Lucas—thank you for bringing your love story to Scotland and letting me be a part of it. Your wedding was not only beautiful but also full of soul, and it was an honour to capture those moments for you.
Also, I’ll never forget the moment we all realized Lucas and I were wearing almost the exact same color pants—it turned into a hilarious moment where we just had to recreate the Spiderman pointing meme, and I’m still smiling about it.
Thank you for treating me not just as your photographer, but as one of your guests. It meant the world.
If you’re planning your own Scotland wedding and dreaming of a celebration that’s meaningful, relaxed, and rooted in connection, I’d love to help tell your story. As a Scotland wedding photographer, I’m here for all of it—the quiet glances, the wild weather, the deep belly laughs, and everything in between.
